a concept background for the test animation at ~Redwall-AnimationIt's a very rough painting but it's just a concept so don't be too hard on it.
EDIT: toned down the spires of light and the mist abit.

Wow, that looks GREAT! My only comment is the line between grass and woodland could be softened, but the moonlight-on-the-fog concept and the night sky - especially with light through the trees - look great! The rocks make nice breakers; they cut into segments for the eye to take in one at a time instead of all at once.

Well then I guess I achieved the results I was aiming for because the test animation is going to have a setting not far from that.

Beautiful... it has this weird sense of being 2D and 3D at the same time. I like it.
Lighting is beautiful, but since it doesn't look quite so misty the light shafts could be toned down a bit more, or at least blurred out a bit more at the edges... more gradiation, I guess. There are also a few shafts that seem to be coming from nowhere and a few places where it looks like there should be some.
In general, though, I like it a lot. You've got the night scenery down to a science, it seems.

Thanks, yeah I know there's some fundamental flaws in it but I chose to ignore them because this is just a concept and I had other things to work on.
I only wish it where true that I have it down to a science but when it comes to scenery I'm such a newbie.

Really great concept, the blue lighting/mist is probably abit too extreme though maybe have a little bit less of it and not quite as vibrant as it covers up the well done forest in the background. Overall though this is great
