LOL, why didn't I expect that? But...Eww, Rover, you're touching a carcass/dead skin, pretty much. Hope he remembers to wash his hands! xD
And that "PERFECT" panel cracked me up. XD

Ha ha! Yep. He would have still tried to sell it! No doubt. Probably in little jars.
I'm doing fine.
Oh, man. Can you buy a new cord?

LucidSpaceUnicorn In reply to chill13 [2020-04-04 07:11:44 +0000 UTC]
Or how about those cute bottle necklaces? But, let's save that for after Amaril and the Jimmadi are rescued from that jeweler.
I'm relieved to here that.
My friend ordered a new cord for me, but it hasn't come in yet. At least I can jump on her computer while she's doing errands.

Nope. They have no particular attatchment to them. Unless it's a mother keeping her kid's skin's like baby teeth or something.

Then Njeela being super disgusted by it and insisting that he keep that shell as far away from her as possible. Her own molted scales are one thing, but somebody else's shed shell? Out of the question! XD

chill13 In reply to Rebel-Rider [2020-03-28 17:40:17 +0000 UTC]
Yep! Rover's true talent is getting something for nothing and making a profit on it. Since his ultimate goal is finding humans he deosn't stick around one place for long which means he meets a LOT of species and people. "One man's trash is another man's treasure" is his motto. He started trading on Jssfloon with literal trash. He knows the right pitch to the right person and he can sell the gum on the bottom of his shoe.

Rebel-Rider In reply to chill13 [2020-03-28 17:41:24 +0000 UTC]
Yep. I bet the area of space my characters are in would annoy him. Everyone knows what they're dealing with so it's hard to export trash and make treasure from it.

chill13 In reply to Rebel-Rider [2020-03-28 17:47:55 +0000 UTC]
Yeah. This works mostly because of the copious amounts of species in my universe who tend to value different things.
Although, if people weren't really doing it he might be able to find some markets...or create some. Like bits of those coral trees would make great decorations. So would some shed feathers from that snake creature. As long as he was selling them not on their native planets. Considering how long it takes to travel in your verse I can't imagine it being TOO common.

Rebel-Rider In reply to chill13 [2020-03-28 18:07:59 +0000 UTC]
Trading between planets is somewhat common. (Remember that even now, cargo ships take a couple weeks to cross the ocean, and we trade a lot.) Rover's main advantage would be that he'd be able to move faster between planets to get stuff traded.

chill13 In reply to Rebel-Rider [2020-03-28 18:33:03 +0000 UTC]
True. But there are always little niches to fill that weren't there before. Think of the guy that started selling pet rocks. Succulant plants weren't really a big thing until recently. They have always existed but someone started the trend.

Rebel-Rider In reply to chill13 [2020-03-28 18:37:29 +0000 UTC]
True. He would probably be trying to do that a lot.

chill13 In reply to Rebel-Rider [2020-03-28 20:10:27 +0000 UTC]
And, of course if he was selling normal stuff he would always be talking up that his product is somehow surperior to the same exact thing everyone else is selliing. Probably not that he would be selling it for more, just that they would rather deal with him than the next guy.
