Summer was her favorite season. There was no other time of the year when it was warm enough to stay out all night and watch the sky. Not around here, anyway. It wasn’t just the sky that interested her, though. The color of the sky at night, the loveliest blue she had ever seen, reminded her of his eyes. Each star was as if she was seeing the mischievous glint that was so present in his face. This was her secret, her place of escape; his eyes. But since she couldn’t lose herself in them, was afraid to tell him how she felt about him, she would lose herself for hours in the sky.

And for now, that was enough.

Laying on the roof, curling into herself, she smiled at the sky and fell into a comfortable doze, imagining her love was watching over her.
