"Oh sweet lass, she's still here... just not in the way you want her to be."
Inspired by the beautifully melancholic song "Einstein's Idea" by Johnny Flynn . June's being comforted by her father after her ailing mother doesn't make it home from the vet. A bit of an emotional piece for me. My thoughts kept going to my Aunt who passed away due to cancer this last summer. It really feels nice to have finally completed another full illustration though. It's been like half a year since the last time.

I'll bet you that blue and purple one would look great too, but I think you made the right choice. Nostalgic is the best way to describe this brownish tone, and it makes it seem more like an event from the past.
