I'm thinking more about the green strands on the hair, for example. They've got irregular endings that I assume came to be with tablet pressure variety, but the settings I currently use at PS only makes things bigger or smaller, for instance.

Well, whatever you're thinking of, it's most likely a lie. I use the eraser/other colors to shape around the strands. In fact, I bet you could do all of this with a mouse.
