[edited]I didn't intend to draw them like th king and queen in WTTE...(Because that time I not even started RP yet???!!!!)
Hmm, lame drawing I know. Just a suggestion of for us to draw Asian style picture...XD
Done in limited copic marker colors(T_T I'm poor) , touch up with photoshop 7.0

p.s look at the sky, its not really sunny is it, its cloudy, which means that its a gloomy day for these 2 characters which means this girl isnt just happening to have a nap on this guy's lap, something bads happened... just wanted to mention that

well its something out of a romeo and juliet im thinking, the way that the woman seems hurt or passing away as the guy holds her in his arms and what she was holding, i think it looks like some sort of fan is now slumped on the floor aside from her, and the guy next to her who looks like some sort of prince or brother is hearing her last breath or words.... well thats my theory on how i view the setting of this picture... which is why i liked it

The guy emotion look stiff, as he only 'look' at her, he expression doesn't show what he is feeling.
But, damn - the background. Especially the pillar, the shadow and highlight make it look 3D, don't worry if you feel it look like a board, coz i didn't feel that look like a board.

I've told you I did the same mistake as you did in drawing~
Well...the 'un 3D' i mention is before processing into photoshop...
I've wanted to make the dragons on the piller like 3D effect,
But if I did that, I'll make the pillers looks like 2D...
Now I make the pillers like 3D, Then I've make the dragons like have been drawed on the piller...swt...

The detail is very impressive. I think the pillars look round, but if you don't think so you can always add more shadow and highlight. The only other thing I would suggest would be to add something colorful in that big grey area to the right for balance. It doesn't have to be big, maybe a vase or a dragon flying in the sky could be cool. Anyway, I looks great as it is too.

Wonderfully done. There's a lot of emotion between the characters from the subtle but expressive faces and I love the extra detail in the background; really adds some authenticity to the look. Nice work on their clothing too; the whole thing has a very good look to it
