it was very windy that day and the waves were wild closer to the shore. if it was not so cold i would have loved to get my toes wet.

I have NEVER seen such wild waves, only very calm and blue ones in summer holiday in Croatia.

it was breathtaking. my mom and my husband were yelling for me to hurry up but i couldn't tear myself from the view. we were there for a few hours but it was not long enough for me even with the cold wind

i agree. it's hard to think of Cali and not think of the ocean no matter what part of Cali you are in. i love Cali to me it's the best place on earth (can you tell i'm in love...hehe)

I am a dreamy california girl at heart, have been since 1962 when my dreams started
of living on an ocean beach outside San Fran...It wasn't the communes or any of that
stuff I dreamed of, but the wind in my hair and the salt spray on my face...
The closest I came to it is on the Beaches of Northern Washington, not a house to be seen
and these huge trees being pulled into shore by the waves...

i have to say that you MUST come to San Fran, this city is totally you! you will be right at home here. i'm going to try to make it to San Fran soon and i will take tons of photos for you.

I have an original t shirt from Haight Ashbury in the late 60's...somewhere.....
Yes, it would have been my town, but I don't think I would have lived this
long had I gone to visit and stay...I have some stock photos of the Haight
in one of my folders somewhere that I would love to rework...
Can you tell how organized I am....LOL
I cannnot wait to see the flavor you capture in your next trip...

when you do find the photos i would love to see them reworked or not. that's history and i am excited to see in any form.
maybe the 60's were too early on for you but San Fran has changed a lot since then. it's still a huge party town full of life and excitement but i'm sure it's not as bad as the 60's; it must have been crazy back then with all the social revolution of love, peace and rock and roll. who knows right now might be the right time.

This IS excellent! I love how you captured the footprints in the sand and how the last of them by the subject are being washed away by the water.

thank you so much!!! i'm so happy you liked it so much. i tried to capture the shot the way it came to me. i first noticed the footprints in the sand leading to the lone person and then the wave lapping at the sand. i knew it was going to be one of my favorites even before i reviewed it.

i went crazy with my camera there. i took hundreds of shots. i don't know it could have been me being deprived for so long of shooting or it could be the place or both but i went crazy.
