Finally! It's finished!! @__@
Man, that took an incredibly long time -- I'd estimate 40-50 hours, perhaps? I doubt I've ever put so much effort into one drawing in my life. But since this was my first commission, I figured that I'd give it my best shot.

Believe it or not, this was done 100% in Photoshop. I tried using OpenCanvas, but the file was too huge (around 4000x5000 pixels), and it corrupted my file when I tried to save. Had no choice but to switch to PS, and it turns out that Photoshop isn't so bad after all. For one thing, I finally learnt to record actions, and that saved me quite a bit of time. Plus, I think I'm getting better with the pen tool, although the lineart (everything except the faces and hands were done with the pen tool) still took me days to finish.

As for the subjects themselves, the commissioner had requested for a "romantic moment" between her characters. I was a bit stumped by that at first (Chouka's very thick when it comes to that stuff XD), so I had to research for some references. As for the background, I was playing around with the idea of "star-crossed lovers" (not sure if those two are actually lovers though). The blurry mess was supposed to be the night sky, and the outline a constellation (can you even tell? lol).

Lessons learnt: 1) Photoshop's actually pretty neat (but still not as mouse-friendly as oC); 2) KEYBOARD SHORTCUTS & ACTIONS rock! (can't live without 'em); 3) don't ever spend so much time on one CG again (I can almost feel carpal tunnel sydrome creeping up on me...)
