I'm doing a second round of fan art based on my favourite creatures from video games (the first round was in 2015). This is #1 of 7.In addition to just paying tribute to my favourite games, I'm doing this as a way of analysing and hopefully learning more about good creature design.
I've also recently started a blog all about analysing creature design: chrislikesmonsters.tumblr.com/
For every day that I make one of these, I will have a corresponding post on that blog analysing the creature design.

Thanks! Yeah, I like all of the scratches and detail they have in Super Mario Odyssey, but I also like how shiny they are in the older games so I split the difference.
This one is all scuffed up but pretty clean, so I guess he just took a bath.
