Description Thunderbird 3 is called to assist a research vessel that has been trapped in saturn's rings. They find the ship stricken and derelict, there is only one way to find out if there's any survivors...

Haven't done any art in a while, been pretty busy. was a bit down so decided to shelve everything and do this.

It occurred to me randomly, while I had much better things to do, that the only Classic Thunderbird i've properly modelled is TB1, I've been using my own variants for all my other images.

Never been a massive TB3 fan. This was actually a little bit of a challenge to make it look Epic and absolutely massive. Gave it quite a bit of weathering to make it look well used and to give the impression its hit some of those Ice fragments. (anyone who's seen TB10 will know Alans' not the best driver)

The other ships a kit-bash of some of my other models.

Made in:
Vue 10
Photoshop
Google Sketchup
Simply 3d
... and by listening to the soundtrack to "The Amazing Spiderman" Pretty much on loop.

I will be at Forbidden Planet London, taking part in a book Signing for the "Haynes Thunderbirds manual" do feel free to drop in, i'd love to say hello... It's on the 21st of July at 1pm.

You incorporate drama and atmospherics wonderfully in many of your images and this one is no exception.

I really like this - it's a very interesting angle, not one that is typically used to depict TB3 and that helps the image stand out.

Excellent work there! Plus the story idea works too - I don't remember any of the original episodes with TB3 being as good as the ones set on Earth. P.S. If you would like to see images of my 3D versions (though not as well set up as this) please checkout my gallery.

Yay! Thunderbirds are back again!

There's so much detail and stuff in the background. It's great. Starting to look even more and more like a piece of movie concept art.

I just love those wheathering effects on TB3. They just make it look so real.

It looks really good! I love the lighting and it gives it a real chilly look! The ice blocks were also well done, and the weathering on TB3 is again, amazing! It's a really great piece of art, and you should do more of these! Keep it up!
