I like the title of this piece; it is a watchtower of sorts

Having just modelled TB5 myself, I imagined this would be easy. It wasn't.
You've made a nice job, but I see a common mistake and a number of nitpicky flaws:
The "coil" torus running around the station should have it's detail radially, not laterally.
(ie, wrapped like a tesla coil)
Minor flubs like the rubber 'handles' on the torus seem oddly shaped and should be black.
The "tanks" behind the "5" are too rounded.
I can't say I like the clear glass dome, it's needs to be more blurry and plastic.
Lovely Earth background and lighting.
Could do with a bit more contrast overall to give it some black "crunch" and colour.

>Then it occurred to me, using the law of infinite probability, somewhere out there, there is someone who thinks Thunderbird 5 is their favourite Thunderbird.Β
Then I thought how they must have been bullied at school, let down by the fact it never got any screen time, how they must have despaired of it never having a decent toy... and when it did it got recalled after the September the 11th attacks for having non PC sound phrases...Β
>So I figured, dude/woman, this ones for you... so here is Thunderbird 5, in its natural habitat orbiting high above the earth doing exactly what it always did... minus the Barry Gray music, but you can put that on yourself...
You just described me to a T. John was always my favorite brother, we even have a birthday just a few days apart. TB5 was a freaking SPACE STATION, how could it NOT be the coolest TB out there? You're totally right I had so many TB1-4 toys, even FAB1, and the Mole, but only ever one TB5... I even introduced my 2 year old to the plastic voice set this past month, and he loved TB5, memorizing all of it's phrases (his favorite being "Father, 10 people are trapped", and my wifeΒ accidentallyΒ stepped on it, breaking off one of it's dishes... Β
I just found this art, and your page. I love it, and if there were a way to purchase it, I would be throwing money at you. Right. Now.

that's someone somewhere would be me. Thunderbirds 4 and 5 where always my favourites. I always wonderd what John did to have been sentenced to space exile as a kid and when the truth came out he was the least liked marronettes out of the bunch I felt rather sorry for him. I still do and while I don't mind the newer (and more logical) desgin of this thunderbird, it always has a space in my heart for the poor son sentensed to a life in space all on his lonesome untill his brother's came and got him.

I do like Thunderbirds 5 and in the 2015 series it gets more screen time and a space lift (I'm British so deal with me not using the word elevator) and E.O.S

Beautiful work. I never liked 5 much personally (being a space geek I never understood how they god the damn thing up there in one piece, I mean it makes TB3 look small), but it certainly looks awesome here.

Has taken me quite a while to reply to these.
Still, you caught a good look at TB5 here. It does look dramatic so long as you get it from the right angle.
(But then you rarely ever see it at any other angle so...)
I had no idea the toys got recalled.
At least the Japanese made those really ncie Thunderbird5 figurines.

That is gorgeous. I really like the angle you've chosen and the lighting effects. Highlighting the docking bay is a fine idea.
The only problem I see is that, if you look at the show, Thunderbird Five is farther away from Earth than your picture suggests. But artistic license comes into play here.
Fine work. Going in my favorites (even though TB5 isn't my favorite Thunderbird).

Very true actually, though I don't know if you could sustain a safe orbit from that distance.
