Murchison slumped back in his seat, his eyes flicking to the monitor where the masked soldier stood. In front of him Stosh sat at the coffee table and helped himself to a banana. Murchison had always long suspected that disheveled computer intern had come in only for the damn things, or any other fruit for that matter, but it was something that he himself learned to roll with. Fruit was getting pretty pricey nowadays.
"Cuahtemoc Reyes." He began. "Talk to me Stosh, what do we know about him?"
"Mexican. About early thirties. Augmented. Mercenary." Stosh said peeling the fruit. "And former Ocelotl member."
"Figured as much." said Murchison. The suit the man in the image was wearing under the jungle canopy was definitely the sort of hardware that would be available to such soldiers. Not only did they offer effective ballistic protection and thermal regulation, but they also had built in thermal dampening and even some built in muscle architecture, not too mention capable environmental shielding. The suits were pricey, but effective. "So why is he solo now?"
"Not sure about the details, but I think it might have been an op gone bad." said Stosh. "Y'know."
"Must have been a pretty nasty fuckup if he's had to leave." Murchison scratched his chin. "Ocelotl isn't known for being cruel or vindictive towards its members."
"True. From what I've been able to garner, it sounds like he was part of an extraction op in Yucatan. High value scientist working on something big." Stosh shrugged. "Nothing that unusual, but it sounds like only Cuahtemoc and two others walked out of there. Out of the original eight."
"So he's been working freelance for the past year?"
"Past six months. He spent a few months in hospital. Info says he needed skin grafts from third degree burns over his body, as well as broken ribs and trauma." Stosh sighed. "Musta been pretty bad, he already had muscle enhancements and skeletal hardening in him. After that, he goes off the grid for a few months before resurface here in town."
"Anything on his psych eval?"
"Nothing out of the ordinary. Stosh said, looking at his phone. "Something about him being 'quietly standoffish?'"
"Like that's anything new..." muttered Murchison. "Alright then, so he's either washed up or he had to flee. What do you think the odds are he's got a target on his back?"
Stosh thought for awhile. In the silence, Murchison looked out the window towards the cityscape. In the distance, he could see the Warrens start lighting up as dusk fell. Both the The place was a jungle in itself Murchison mused. As far as the New Cities went, Providence wasn't too bad. The place still had considerable overcrowding and questionable populace, but the utilities worked everywhere. Mostly. Indeed it was saying something that most of the major corporate interests and policlubs had a presence here.
That made good business around here for men like Murchison and Stosh.
"I'm going to go with 'No' for now." Stosh said after finishing his banana. "Doing work here would probably attract too much attention."
"I thought as much." Murchison said. "You figured out a way to contact him?"
"Does work for a local smuggler. Small time stuff." Stosh said. He texted some details to Murchison. "Think he'll be interested in joining?"
"Only one way to find out." Murchison said, reaching for the conference caller.

Heya folks! Here is another guy that I managed to whip up. As the name and iconagraphy suggests, I was wanting to go with a proper Aztec/Mayan feel to this guy. The helmet was inspired by Raiden's getup in the early parts of MGS2, with an added visor which I felt would resemble an old Aztec Jaguar helmet when the visor was flipped up. Similar to Red, he's my own take on a character that I had commissioned a while ago. Had him as a Shadowrun character as well.
