Description hahaha. no he's not.

It’s another topic agin yaaaaall!!!!

So what do you guys think about the light skinned vs. dark skinned thing.
If you haven’t heard seen or experienced it then you should look it up. to me it's just another example of how media mixed with agendas/ mixed with brainwashing/ mixed with ignorance, can screw up an ethnic race!...

even though live in a predominantly white suburb with a lot of different races and skin tones, for me its not as serious (I haven’t gotten made fun of for the completion of my skin cuz I’m not that dark) but I’m not light skinned either.

I hear a lot of: “light skinned girls are bad" and "they be so dang sexy" and what not. I’ve seen people say it to a light skinned girl who isn’t even equally cute as that dark girl over there but they are instead saying the dark girl is “ugly” ,“hit”, “smacked”, etc. (but she was actually pretty and had a lot of swag!! Like no lie O.O).

but in fact this isn’t new at all... it has come about again, its literally like an on and off thing in our black communities (even though I’m talking mainly about black people it includes other races as well).
while I’m saying all this I’m not gonna lie, I’ve made fun of darker people in my younger years too... but now I’ve stopped.

Gosh... i seriously gotta look at a fine dude and then say: “Hmm... he’s cute, but I think he’s gonna go with a light skinned gurl. =]". And when I think that, its a little bit of both: seriousness, and to just make fun of things. But I’m not bitter, I’ve had a lot of dudes say adored comments about how I look... while I’ve had to check others >.>’.hmm.

so on that last note I rather not be a light skinned female ,and have guys call me degrading names ,or have a lot of my relations come and go b/c dudes... (Well, this can go for guys too sooo...), and girls, like to go with 'trends' regarding my skin (not saying that happens all the time). I still kind of feel sorry knowing that DOES happen =/.

I could say more but this is to long. It’s like a life story right now. But just telling it like I feel... and I recommend you do the same =]. Let me see your thoughts every one.

GAH depressing study >_<; Now granted I will openly admit that I DO have my preferences, but that doesn't give me the right to judge anyone based off of the "tint" of their creed. Of course there will be certain details that will draw me towards one girl over the other, but that doesn't stop me from acknowledging them both. To be honest, if they're good people AND attractive? It's a win-win situation.

kisura chrissy-christine,
the questions are simple. why does the individual like certain shades of brown and despise others? why does th individual like all shades or brown or despise them all? The answers to those questions are individual to individual, whether white black or other, but those answers explain everything.

yeah i guess ur right. but it gets to the point where one individual’s individual opinion takes control of another individual’s mind set, and then another, to the point where ppl cant think and do for themselves bc they want to 'fit in'. I know those are very week people in life, there is ALOT in the world. I’m not saying no one is entitled to an opinion, bc they ARE. But a lot of the time I see some one who has the POWER of opinion but uses it to condemn others. And that doesn’t just go towards this field of discussion but every political issues (those other issues r for a different picture I suppose). people having their own opinion is key and I agree with part of your comment, but since were in a debate/ argue/ discussion-BLAH- what ever u might call it (lol) imma tell u what I see and hear .its at a point in my life were I see dudes rapping song lyrics to themselves talking a bout " i wanna yellow bone long haired pretty big butt, sexy, etc, etc, etc, then something about sex and smoking* (blah)" and there opinion of a beautiful person sounds EXACTTLY LIKE THAT LYRIC/ LIYRICS...and omgosh they were dead srs about it too. weak minds and harts are being taken advantage of every day by people who have the power and influence to do so. and it makes me so sick cuz I wanna stand up! and ok, imma sum up the realest reason as to why this is one of the topics that pisses me of the most and imma get strange on u maybe =] (but idc). Its the most blunt issue that is ,in a lot of cases recently, in regards to true 'spiritual war fares', but no one really sees it. Hard to swallow, ill explain if u don’t kno what i mean. bc this is a-uh.... long long comment. >v>'. opps

The question is, how do you solve the problem? do you force rappers to change their lyrics? Are mentors needed? if they are , how will they be paid in the capitalistic society we live in?

Spiritual warfare always goes on. The question is how does the healing of people's spirits, the improved grooming of people's spirits really begin?

The industry is based on greed and enslavement like most things in the society we live in. Talking about mentors I feel would be best served at community centers, outside of the institutions and closer to peoples homes. education is not bounded to schools, faith is not bounded to churches.
The neighborhood should have a place to itself, agree kisura chrissy christine

completely agree. the sadist thing is we can change those lyrics and we can get the "true" rappers in the spot light bc no one will be willing to listen and the industry is corrupted...a lot (if u know what i mean).

finding a true mentor shouldn’t cost. if people knew were to look. i feel the talking about mentors should be held at school instead of the church or any other personal area,( like his or her own neighbor). but with that the only problem is finding a creditable mentor who will help the person be and do greater things, instead of leaving them into a bad path.

I'm a white guy and I prefer dark-skinned black women. It angers me how few people appreciate their beauty.

Chrissy-Christine In reply to BrandonScottPilcher [2011-06-05 21:39:40 +0000 UTC]

yeah. i know its so funny how more white people value dark girls then black people do. the only thing that ive seen that holds a white guy back is how it'll look, and how people would relate it to negative stuff... when really his want is more truer love than the snow bunnie/ snicker licker/ wigger/ jungle bunny hoish stereotypes. (if u dont know what some of those terms refer to then i can elaborate =]). but those actions are more okay then havening a real relationship with a black man white woman or white man black woman that is not all about sex and drugs. i hate that!!

BrandonScottPilcher In reply to Chrissy-Christine [2011-06-05 22:23:10 +0000 UTC]

It does seem to be the case that those white guys who like black women go after the darker ones, because the darker ones have more exotic allure than the mixed ones. I also prefer natural hair to relaxed hair for the same reason.

I for one am disgusted at the lack of respect a vocal percentage of African-American men show towards their women. I'm afraid of ranting about it on a public forum, because I have black male friends whom I don't want to alienate, but I have to vent my anger somewhere, so it might as well be here.

This isn't the sort of question that can be answered in a comment box. How about we go and catch a cup of coffee, we can delve deeper into the subject and I can give you my answer then?

I agree with you. That shit bothers THE HELL out of me.

Mostly because the mothers of the dudes sayin this stuff are all chocolate.

Why not just spit in their face already?

I'm not gonna go on a rant here, but I'll just say it makes me sick to know the level of disrespect from my fellow males, who are equally as dark(and the ones are light skinned) rag on dark skin women.

Fuck the cliches, I like em dark.

Thas not to say I don't like light skin chicks, cause I do, but I aint gon turn one down just to get to the other.

i completaly agree ;D. and yeaaaah... somes moms are dark as... well purple. so its like what??!! who spit u out??. lol. but i like em dark too . i also like asians.lol. >v>. but i love all my light skinndeis.. i just hate that thats how people deside on who is pretty or not. by color. and its sad bc its the worst within the black community. its lyk were to maine ones who do it. no other race has shamed dark people more then us!!! LOL

sigh..mhaaan, the history of black people is shamefully ironic.

Our Eastern Indian cousins got a hang up over "Dark" vs "Light" too, that is until some one on the outside of the culture identifies it, then, "Oh no! We all look the same! We're one people!"

But at the same time they're pushing one half of "their people" into extinction.

And the public Skin bleaching creme commercials don't help the matter.

yeah... that last part is horribal tho. ive always known that the situation happens trough out other races... but its so funny bc its like 'WHY??'. white people are the ones TRYING to get dark (tans and such). they up lift it for them sevles but then down grade others for it, its stupid. so if we are trying to look white, light, what ever! then why is almost every light/ white person trying to get dark. IT MAKES NO SENSE

reverse psychology my dear!

You remember the "big booty dresses" (as I call them) from the colonial south?

Folks, be like no! that's not why it looked like that! It was just a fashion!

A fashion indeed, from the French, who made the design to look like a big out reaching ass.

lol point of the story is, Big lips was ugly until white people had a way to get them, having a big butt was ugly until you could go to the plastic surgeon and get you one.

Today most people will say that it's not the case and that it's always been this way. But unless black folks been sleepin in the matrix, having just imagined all that negativity and white folks just woke us up, I think they need to stop BSin.
