Description
Didn't win - but it was a good run ^^ Looks like it'll have to be another day for ol' Kro here to exist
Take two with old Kro , trying again to get this Oakfern XD Since I got enough bacon points for an extra slot and I saw this dandy little grey in the December auctions and thought "ayyyy there's Kro!"
Not only did Kro get a huge overhaul appearance wise, but his history and bits of personality have changed as well. He's still a creepy little freak anyway you go with it though, thats never going to change. Lonely, insane, morbid, little Kro <3 Also, like the last bid, there's still a Skyrim-Vale-Deer thing going on here paint-wise c:
This also took a while to finish, mostly because of this turd ...
**Edit** - Added Gogil the owl to this, as well as Gogil's info ^^

Detailed Personality:
Isolation for so long has driven him to madness. Such so, he’ll talk to his own reflections or talk for his owl friend, Gogil. It was his father who made him snap into his critical attitude, and being off by himself only escalated it further. No one is worth his time. If one wants to be worth his time, they have to show him why. He doesn’t care what lineage you hail from, what skills you may or may not have, what reasons you have for seeking him out, he’ll hate you all the same. Most say he’s incapable of a single “nice” thought towards another fawnling. The only one who seems to get the warm and cuddly side of Kro is Gogil.
Kro has little to no remorse for others. He’s not really strong enough to kill anyone with hooves and teeth alone, and his magic has yet to get to that level, but he enjoys seeing others suffer- especially those he dislikes (which is just about everybody, until they prove otherwise). One reason he returns to the Moonpool may just be to see the sacrifices - oh they give him a giggle! He’s pretty dark when it comes to this, darker than most other members of his herd. While others see sacrifices as part of religion, he sees them as a show, an event. And once its over, he has something to smile about on his way back to his hidey-hole, something to talk with Gogil about for a while at least.
History:
Like any other fawnling, he was born. In this instance, he was born an Oakfern - something that would utterly consume his life. His mother, a very minor shaman, preached the teachings of their kind to her son in hopes he would be chosen by The Oracle as she had been as a fawn. She believed that the spiritual connection ran in her blood, therefore, young Kro would be an excellent match as a preacher of Gealach. Kro’s father, a strong warrior with a large harem to prove it, however thought that a son of his should be a warrior, a King even if he worked hard enough for it, and so he insisted to Kro’s mother that she let up on the religious speaking and let him work with the fawn. Kro’s mother denied him this, fought continuously and relentlessly against Kro’s father for what she wanted for the fawn. All the while, no one asked the silent, easily impressionable, young Kro about what he wanted to do. He didn’t speak out, he simply followed. No fights, no troubles , Kro was not one to go against either of his parents.
Kro never was chosen by the Oracle to be a shaman. Never even considered. This upset Kro’s mother, who was pestered even more by her mate to let up about religion and give Kro to him. Never would she, still believing there was a way for him to impress the Oracle - even though the decision had already been made- and one day while her mate was away, fled with her son to a far off cavern to continue to teach him.
His father was not happy about this when he found out. Not happy. And Kro’s mother had never been that sneaky. Others had seen where she fled off to, and she even left tracks (as did Kro). It wasn’t long after running that Kro’s father came charging into their hiding place, disrupting their lesson, and “teaching” Kro’s mother his own lesson. It was this moment that snapped Kro into who he is today. Having loved his mother and seeing her being punished, he lashed out and attempted to fight his father - who, needless to say, pretty much just brushed the young fawnling to the side. It was after that Kro’s mother returned with him, as did Kro, but no longer did he remain silent - although his mother found a new silence herself, preaching very little (if any) words to her son in the presence of her mate. Kro meanwhile resisted his father’s urges to train, with every year he grew older the more and more he grew away from him. It wasn’t just him, it was other fawnlings too. They looked at him like a freak at times, especially when Kro would go on rants about his father, religion, whatever happened to be on his mind - no one was safe from Kro’s sharp jabs and insults. Finally, when he was old enough to protect himself, he broke off from the main group and left to live in his tiny cavern - the same one his mother fled to with him not long before.
He has lived there since, studying his own magical abilities, observing the various fungi and moss that grows around him, and having very intriguing conversations with his only true friend Gogil, his Burrowing Owl Companion. Only on rare instances will he travel back to the moonpool or to the main herd, whether it be because of religious instances or just to gather certain herbs. He remains isolated and very much critical of others.
Companion/Close Friend: Gogil the Burrowing Owl.
About Companion: Kro happened upon Gogil on one of his journeys gathering herbs, back maybe when Kro was about 8 or 9 years old. The owl was young, a few months to a year old at least, but when it met Kro the two pretty much clicked. Kro had been lonely for a long time - although afraid to admit it- and when Gogil started to hang out with him, he found joy in talking with him, making up voices with him, sharing deep secrets and gossip, etc...
Gogil is very expressive. Known to be a very chatty owl, he'll make tons of clicking, chuckling, and chattering noises just for the heck of it. If talked to, he'll bob his head or shake it depending on how he feels. With others, he's kinda grumpy and a tad bit aggressive - known to nip, bite, claw, and screech at those he doesn't like. Kro take's Gogil's judgement on others into his own account, often believing that if Gogil doesn't like somebody then neither should he. So, if you get Gogil to like you - you may just get Kro to acknowledge you.
As of now, Gogil is approximately 4 or 5 years old, still pretty young and just getting into his prime - seeing how burrowing owls live anywhere up to 11 years. He doesn't have a set sleeping pattern, thanks to hanging out with Kro, but usually hunts at night where its easier to see prey. He sleeps at random times of the day.

I used a reference for Gogil (mostly with the feet and face >.<) but I lost the link. I just googled "Burrowing Owls" and it was one of the first images)
