All graphite, mostly my 9B and 8B pencils. This took me well on 10 hours, I believe this is 13" by 8", I never measured. The photo does not do it's justice, there is a lot of details that you are missing out on, i'll see if I can post a detail composite soon.

So here you are! My latest obsession. This is Bofur the dwarf from The Hobbit. Bofur is Bifur's brother and Bombur's cousin and the most adorable dwarf in all the company. Aside from Fili and Kili. Those two were definitely hotter than expected.

Decided to finally have a go at Bofur the Dwarf from The Hobbit as portrayed by James Nesbitt. He is such an incredible actor. I think he does a marvelous job at introducing his character, seeing as the 13 individual dwarves never had any real personality that they could claim as their own and made them unique. In the book and the 70's cartoon adaption, the dwarves were mostly uniform. This is another reason why I love Peter Jackson, he really wanted each dwarf to be 100% unique. I think one of his best casting decisions was James Nesbitt.

Bofur is a kind, protective, helpful, and adorable dwarf. He tries very hard to make Bilbo feel accepted and and I think he acquires a certain fondness for him. "Think furnace with wings!" My favorite line. In the first movie, Bofur rips off a piece of his own shirt (or whatever it was) for Bilbo to use as a hankie (adorable). He grabs Bilbo in Rivendell and stands guard in front of him as the elves come riding in. He is the only one who notices that Bilbo is missing after the Rock Giant battle. And when Bilbo says he is leaving, he is really upset at first but then accepts Bilbo's decision and wishes him luck even though Bilbo was the only reason why they decided to take back the mountain. And finally, his adorable sigh of relief when Bilbo reappears after the goblin caves. And of course you have all his little quirks. Oh my goodness, that contemplating look just before he tosses Bombur his nicely roasted sausage. Pure fiendish thought process. He and Radagast are incredibly alike in looks, lots of curls and ups and downs in their costume design. His ear hat is priceless.
