You're work is absolutely stunning and deeply inspiring for guys like me hoping to improve their A-game. Literally flawless renderings. But your humility and generosity as an artist is what really shines on DA. Well done, brother!

That piece is terrificly great!!!!!
How much for a piece like that?
Just a little observation, it seems his toes appear a little under his right boot!
It's still one of your best artworks!!

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

ChristopherStevens In reply to SpiderGuile [2009-02-02 05:12:46 +0000 UTC]

Thanks. How much ya got? I kid..I'm not sure yet to be honest. I haven't done any official commission with markers yet. Price TBD

Not sure I understand what you mean about the toes.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

SpiderGuile In reply to ChristopherStevens [2009-03-06 21:22:51 +0000 UTC]

I mean that his toes are too apparent, too defined though they are in that boot! lol

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

ChristopherStevens In reply to SpiderGuile [2009-03-07 04:12:59 +0000 UTC]

Ah...I see what you're talking about..it's actually just some ripples in the leather..not meant to look like toes.

MatiasSoto [2009-01-31 00:00:16 +0000 UTC]

It's great!
Though I never heard of white pencil crayon, it's seems great for shading.
No photoshop here?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

ChristopherStevens In reply to MatiasSoto [2009-01-31 01:11:35 +0000 UTC]

Thanks. I'm using a standard white Prismacolor color pencil. No crayon in the mix hehe. It works well for highlights as long as you use it over a dark tone. You can barely see it on lighter shades of grey. No Photoshop on this one

Man, this is sick! Amazing technique!!
Reminds me a bit of Travis Charests stuff.

....argh...envy....

ChristopherStevens In reply to ChristianNauck [2009-01-30 23:15:15 +0000 UTC]

Thanks.. Charest? Really? He's always been an influence on me, but I didn't think it ever really showed anymore.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

ChristianNauck In reply to ChristopherStevens [2009-01-31 09:22:42 +0000 UTC]

I think it's more the technique than enything else.

fantastic job!

ChristopherStevens In reply to RadPencils [2009-01-30 23:17:27 +0000 UTC]

Thanks...I think heh..I hope it doesn't look too smooth. I like to have some hand done characteristics showing through. The scan's been touched up a bit though...blacks flattened and darkened a bit.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

RadPencils In reply to ChristopherStevens [2009-01-31 02:05:48 +0000 UTC]

Result is wonderful, it seems like your digital illustration, but a bit warmer (sorry for my English, I'm Italian)

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

ChristopherStevens In reply to Guidotoon [2009-01-30 20:07:51 +0000 UTC]

Thanks. The Prismacolor markers have a bit of color in them. Even the Cool greys. They have blue, but when I scan them it shows as a bit of a reddish tint.
