No, I'm from Iceland of all places, and I live in the State atmo. I just love all things tribal/folk artsy. THey're always beautiful and so sensible in design.
Anyway, glad you like it.

Nice blend of materials and styles! I wonder, did you leave paua shells off on purpose? I suppose they might make the whole armour look a bit too decorative/classy as opposed to functional. They're often feature in Maori carving (the shiny round bits here: [link] ) and might've made a great contrast with all the hook shapes in there.
Also, missed your art! Upload more plz.

Firstly, I was just going for an engraving so the paua shells wouldn't really work out. Secondly, I based it off Maori tattoos, so even less reason to use them. X3
Hope you like it.

You are aware that the Maori aren't white aren't you?

I never said they where I colour. I just said that Maoris weren't white. And you can call yourself Maori, and I accept that that's where you lie, however this work makes no mention to being of Pakeha mix, so therefore the Maori shouldn't have white-whitish skin tone mixed in

"Im FULL Maori, FULL Pakeha"
So you full blooded Maori, and yet also full blooded European Descendant, or Pakeha as they're called? You do see the problem in that, don't you? Two full bloodlines can't can't remain full blooded if they get mixed together. Period. You either half Maori and half Pakeha, or a alternative mix the two. You cannot be both, it's genetically impossible
It's also genetically impossible for a full blooded Maori to be white, and Albinism doesn't count because it's a lack of Mellon in the skin
And I'm not a Racist; it's simple genetics. You can see yourself as full Maori; I couldn't care less. But as far as Genetics go, if you're white then you're not Full Blood Maori. Genetic impossibility

...dude...who you are aint got nothing to do with blood.
As you quoted me, 'Im FULL Maori, FULL Pakeha' - I never said Im full BLOODED - because I know that blood thing is a racist belief invented by racists - whether YOU PERSONALLY consider yourself racist or not - that whole blood thing IS racist bullshit. We are all humans, and their has NEVER been any such thing as a FULL BLOODED ANYTHING - who you are is a matter of CULTURAL IDENTITY not genetic identity.......understand?

Race does exist, it's used to describe different strong genetic traits inherited by hundreds of thousands of years minor evolution in a localized area. Race very much exists; it helps define who we are, where we're from, a lot of people taking massive pride in their race. I'm a white New Zealander/Australian myself, I take pride in being decedent from a mix of British Colonists and, due to the Australian, Irish and Scottish Prisoners. And I know you take pride in race otherwise you'd have just called yourself a person, and not a Maori and Pakeha
You can't simply choose to ignore race, at the end of the day, a person will still be White, Black, Asian, Native American, Indian or whatever
You've got to detach the race from racism, seeing how you keep bringing up the term, the two don't exist hand-in-hand. I call myself white, don't mean I'm self-racists. If I where to report a robber as being Asian, that wouldn't make me racist, would it? No, it wouldn't

Ok...actually YOU are the only one bringing up race...(I guess that’s your way of admitting you were wrong about that "FULL BLOODLINES" bullshit?)
You keep bringing things up that I haven’t brought up - you brought up the full blood thing when I said nothing of the sort. Now you bring up race when I haven’t even mentioned it...its like instead of hearing me out, you’re more concerned about being right, so you bring things into this argument, without clearing up other things, just to try and trump me; like that last paragraph about the robber - very funny and very random, because its one of those "Well, duh!" moments
...but I'll acknowledge what YOU say about race even you’re too close-minded to acknowledge what I say about culture.
So...you bring up race. Race clearly exists and I never said it didn’t, only a blind man would miss it. And clearly DNA exists that makes visual and biological features vary from race to race...dont worry, I know...
...Right...now that that’s cleared up and you stop putting words in my mouth, what say you tell me about what I said about my being 'full' due to my cultural identity? (something I actually DID bring up)
...maybe this will help you understand what I mean by full: If I traced my ancestry up a huge family tree that might weave its way through many different races until I reach the guy from Africa with the Y-chromosome, I wouldn’t be a 'mix' of any of those races I would be ALL of them, not 1/2 of this and 1/4 of that, or 1/8 of this and 1/16 of that....

...(sigh) again trying to trump me with nonsense...it seems Im not getting through to you...keep your mind closed...and yes, you are right, you definitely "FAIL to see" many things...but its because you dont WANT to understand what I mean...maybe the because the way you were brought up?...anyway...one day you might get it...but until that day, goodbye...

"I haven’t brought up"
Yeah, I brought it up. But so did you when you said it didn't exist
"I say about culture"
"what say you tell me about what I said about my being 'full' due to my cultural identity"
Seeing how you asked so nicely. So you're 100% Maori and 100% Pakeha in Culture. Really? I fail to see how you're the epitome of every single New Zealander! Culture is determinable by what someone learns and passes down, my Dad's a Kiwi and so am I, I can't see where you would have learned what he passed down so therefore you can't be 100% Pakeha, in CULTURE
"until I reach the guy from Africa with the Y-chromosome, I wouldn’t be a 'mix' of any of those races I would be ALL of them"
Racial Genetics came AFTER the first humans left Africa. Race is the minor genetic traits and differences that occurred LATER, in different locations OUTSIDE of Africa. You couldn't have been ALL of the BEFORE they came to exist
