With the whole sister thing, in ancient times before more hellenic greece, Artemis was actually the main deity, and Apollo was sometimes considered a "rat" but also as her consort. So that ties into the possible raping, tho, not sure about it. And acutally, Apollo had,out of all the male deities, the most prominent and frequent male lovers, all ending in tragedy. Also, he was the most protective of those he loved, especially his mother. He literally, along with his sister, killed in their mother's name, because mortals verbally attacked and demeaned their mother (Niobe in particular).

Apollo is the god of divine perfection. Some what vain, and partuclarly anal, for a god of music. Apollo is well known for his affairs, almost all of them ending tragically. There was an old saying that "Woe to any who the gods love" or somthing like that. In later times he was merged with the sun god Helios.
You know, this is pretty much how i pictured Apollo too. The picture i drew of him ages ago looks a bit like this. I like the golden eyes.
