PLEASE DOWNLOAD FOR FULL SIZEI did most of these (all of them except the top three) last Christmas right after finishing Gregory Maguire's Son of a Witch (and having just read Wicked the month before).
The sketches stayed there in my work in progress folder for months and I finally decided to complete them and add a few characters to submit them to 's New Disney Musical contest.
The concept here is of an animated musical movie inspired BY GREGORY MAGUIRE'S NOVEL, not by the Broadway musical. Because the novel(s) rock and the Broadway musical, well, it doesn't.
So if an animated movie were to be made by Disney - I'd like new songs and a plot that is closer to the books.
I did my own thing here as far as design goes, even though Glinda kind of looks like Kristin Chenoweth, because she's awesome and one of the few things I truly like about the stage adaptation.

Is any one confused on how the winkies are middle eastern even though they're supposed to be based of off normal American workers and were supposed to have lighter skin and yellow clothing

More or less. I have to be honest, I didn't bother going back to the book to check out eye or hair colors, but they should not be too far from what you find in the novels.

Wicked it is my favorite book, but I have to admit I really didn't like the sequels. Although I did love the character of Liir. The musical is only good if you take it in a different context then the book. Only one comment, even in the book, Glinda is the Witch of the North. She is only the witch of the South in the Original Wizard of Oz. Nessarose was suppose to be the witch of the South, until Elphaba went East and abandoned her family duty.
