This drawings I did for my wonderful girlfriend Pamela. When I found the reference photo on dA I immediately thought of Pamela. She plays the violin.I want to thank for allowing me to use her great photo When for this drawing.
I tried to keep the drawing as close to the picture as possible. There was only one change I made and that was to extend the stem of the rose out.
Some may notice the lighter spots here and there around the violin. The fixatif that I coated the drawing with reflected weird in various spots.
Done on 11x14 bristol vellum with 9b, 4b, and hb woodless graphite pencils. About 5 hours.

Thank you so much for drawing this for me! This drawing, like all of your others, is absolutely incredible. The drawing still looks terrific, but definitely not as good as before you sprayed it. And as always, the real life drawing is far better than the scan. <3

absolutely beautiful! I play violin and often think about drawing it but i get scared and thing it'd be too technical a drawing, i really love this a lot!

Violins are one of my favorite instruments, second only to the cello. I wish I could play, but I can't even read sheet music. I envy you a bit.
I've tried to draw the violin many times before. I've only ever finished two. This one and one in pastels. This one has to be my all time favorite.
You should give it a try. The only thing you have to loose is a little time and paper.

I had violin and piano lessons from the age of 4 and Irish dancing 
ive been thinking about trying to draw a violin since i saw yours, im umming and ahhing about it, maybe i should give it a go instead of thinking about it lol

Wow. Piano and violin. Plus drawing. I'm very impressed. My family got a piano when I was a teen, but no one ever gave us lessons. I don't know why. hmmm.

I play the piano a lot even now, i'm teaching my kids so its a good excuse to make some noise, my 3 year old has a go on the violin, its not good! *sticks fingers in her ears*
