Description About a woman who hated hot May days and loved Igor Stravinsky

This is Martha.

She thinks that red dress is far too revealing but it was fairly cheap and she bought it with the hope of wearing it to a date someday five years ago.

That day is today, she will meet someone who seemed nice enough on the phone. It's desperate, she agrees, but she's blind-ating because in three weeks she will turn 40 and the menace of eternal loneliness grows bigger and bigger, and certainly she doesn't wanna end up like aunt Mildred who died alone in her flat next to a bakery.

As she waits alone in the park -she should have asked to meet in a coffee shop- she tries to remember the name of the Igor Stravinsky piece she was listening to yesterday while she was working on a puzzle next to a good glass of wine she brought back from her anual trip to France.

But she can't get out of her head the thought that it's gonna rain and she will be stood up in a red dress alone in a park with dark trees.

Perhaps it's not too late to avoid the humilliation. She might as well go back to her flat next to a flower shop and tune in her show on epidemics or finish reading the last volume of the decay of the Roman Empire next to a good glass of wine.

Yes, yes. That's a good idea.

Oh, it made me sad...
Maybe going home she could meet a talking donkey and ride to a land of happy middle aged women? The land where they all doing (making?) puzzles and drinking red wine wihout feeling rejected and upset...

Anyway: great work - I love the background!

PS. And it makes me think about a song "Ballad of Lucy Jordan": link

Yes, there must be such a place. I think that as long as she likes what she's doing, there's no really a point in trying to change to please others or to meet the expectations of society.

I do hope that talking donkey knows some jokes though

P.S. Oh good lyrics! I'm glad it reminded you of something so nice.

Thank you so much, I wasn't sure about the face and the composition came up as always in improvisation, but I'm happy it worked out.

The dress is yours to borrow anytime!
