Description Hello again! Well this one is actually historical (ghasp what a shock!) having to do with the end of the French and Indian War (also called the Seven Years War in places outside Alfred's house XP)
It was basically a dispute over the Ohio River Valley where the French wanted then English land so that they could expand on fur trading. The British Colonists weren't to pleased and England got involved. France vs. England, what a shock. The English ended up winning, just like several other wars that were fought around the world at the time (poor France) and recieved Canada at the end of the war, pushing France out of alot of land in North America. All the taxes from the wars caused in turn the British Colonists to begin the American Revolution.
Ya....and thats the French and Indian war (Seven Years war) in a nut shell ^_^

Hetalia is not owned by me.

EDIT:
GHASP! Some of this historical awsome is not actaully true, un-truths aren't good!
So here's some stuff to change:
America wanted fur in Ohio, but southern planters also wanted more land to grow tobacco on, so they invaded. Hence why George Washington was their leader.
Also they where fairly pleased when the Britished joined in, what they didn't like was how they where treated. Pretty much the forces England sent over really weren't the cream of the crop, many of them teenagers who wanted to get hitched with American girls...and lets just say their fathers weren't too pleased about this.

Papajack1 informed me that " Goerge washignton started the war by accidentaly killing a french diplomat in the Ohio valley. that's how the whole thing started."

Thanks for the extra info!

Also, America and Britain treated Canada horribly.
Actually, the fight did start when George Washington was framed that he killed the French diplomat (or something like that), though, he didn't actually kill him. It was an Indian chief whom killed him and scalped him. George Washington was framed because he got this letter, written in a different language obviously, and so he signed it without knowing what it was. Then, there was a battle over the Forks of the Ohio, the reason the French wanted that piece of land was because it connects to Mississippi River, and that would expand the French rule over America.
...Sorry for my dork showing...I thought I'd tell you

Another fun fact: the French pretty much handed over Canada. They didn't really want it anymore, they only wanted it for what it could provide at the time, not what it could become, like what they British saw.

): Poor Canada.
What I've noticed is that US history taught in the United States try and make it sound like some epic underdog battle of the Americans or something like that. But the more and more people post their bits of information on here, it seems increasingly apparent that it wasn't like that at all. O.o

I'm from America, and my teacher taught me that the Brits saved our asses, and France was like "whatever. Take it."
...but maybe that's just my awesome teacher.
and yes...poor Canada...at least he has his brother and Cuba.

I keep coming back to this picture - not many people try to show this using Hetalia. What actually happened between France, England and Canada during the Seven Years' War is...crazy complicated, involving the conflict in Europe, in the Caribbean, in Canada itself...yeah. Let's just say that, in my opinion, it wasn't so much England taking Canada as France giving it away - and, seeing as you said that England "received" Canada in the end, I think you managed to pick up on that. And trust me, not many Hetalia fans do!

Thanks!
Ya, I actually picked that up (this is kinda embarassing to say)through a historically accurate fanfic. And that prompted me to do a bit of research/thinking about the war from another point of view other than American.
From what I've heard the Seven Years War is insane. We breifly touched on it in World History and it seemed like everyone was changing sides constantly.

Yeah, the Seven Years' War is complicated - I consider myself lucky just to be able to make sense of the North American half of it. The European part still goes over my head most of the time.

And, actually, don't be embarassed about picking that up through a fanfic - I'm rather curious right now as to which fanfic that was, if you could recall. I'd love to check it out sometime
