PRINT available here !The characters are naiads, the fresh water sisters to nymphs. I wanted them young and beautiful but also give a subtle dark undertone. Unlike nymphs who were by and large altruistic creatures, naiads were just as likely to drown you as help you.

It was impossible.
Madness.
Every fiber of his logic minded, science centered, modern and rational mind told him, repeated loudly and emphatically that what he was seeing was not and could not possibly be real...
...and yet there they were floating in the calm waters of the lake.
Flesh and blood. Heart and bone.
Naiads. The nymphs of the lakes.
Gorgeous beings were they. The picture of feminine beauty.
Enchanting. And at the heart of the group, at the center of the gathering, there was the loveliest one of all. Soft whiteย framed her smooth angelic face as a green serpent made its way around her flawless, white garbed, hourglass form...

I'd offer them to form a 1940's mob style gang, make the one on the left the B.A.R. operator and train them all to chomp on cigars and say, "Blah see, blah!" It would be great.ย ย

This reminds me so much of the art style featured in the movie Sirens by John Duigan starring Sam Neil.
The painting Norman did that brought so much "shame to his reputation".

This piece has long captivated me.
I consider it museum-worthy artwork that rivals the masters of old.
What's truly incredible is the composition, lighting, and exquisite mastery of color.
And more incredible on a personal level, is my ongoing fascination with this piece despite my terrible phobia of snakes, and being completely petrified of Rusalka, Naiads, water-dwelling beauties who drown you.ย
Somehow these things elements don't matter compared to my love affair with this image.
I consider it an honest master work, and continue to applaud it, some several years after first viewing.
