So I haven't drawn any of the old Channel Awesome people in years. Strangely enough back when I was doing my Mario Bros comics I was attempting to add all of the creators that I liked but things changed over the years. There was actually a period when I didn't like Linkara. I thought he had become too into his own storylines and it felt like I was constantly finding things to disagree with in his reviews. So I spent a few years away but have come back into the fandom. I may still not be a fan of the storylines but I do think he is very good at explaining his position even if sometimes I don't agree. Case in point I don't dislike the animated Killing Jokes as much as he does. Once it actually gets to the Killing Joke it's ok and I'm able to compartmentalize my feelings towards the awful first 1/3rd and the rest. But even then I think in the actual adaptation there are some odd choices in direction that hold it back. I especially don't think Mark Hamill and Kevin Conroy were bad casting choices, as they have done readings of The Killing Joke at conventions and they sound great. I really think the direction is what is off about the film. I thought it would be fun to reproduce the fantastic art to what I imagine must have been going through his head while watching. Also I have to admit I was kinda expecting something this would be what the title card would be but instead it turned out quite different so I made this. I think it turned out pretty good.
