Description Nana paints another animal into the mural; this time a buck hiding in the grass beside the stream. Children passing with their parents down the alley will delay them on their way to market, as they hunt each creature down. It is these girls and boys that the artists really have in mind as they labor on this block-long painting. Their cooperative gallery, Images Gallery, is just around the corner, in Overland Park, Kansas.

Great shot, Rene. Tell the artists they are doing an amazing job, and thanks again for capturing all of it!

Thank you, Erin. I will certainly pass your praise along. I was playing with f stop and shutter on this one, with the camera on a tripod. Always cumbersome, but why risk losing the shot? I like the image, not so much because its Nana (whom I do adore), but because it is an artist doing work for strangers, in this case kids who will find the deer she's painting.

A beautiful woman, deep in concentration. Β The black and white moves the focus from the painting to the painter.

Hi, Steven. I've been thing about monochrome a lot lately, for the very reason that you mention. Also, the wide angle with it's depth of field. Had to use a tripod though.

And, thankfully for the pinhole shooter, black and white film is forgiving of errors in exposure.
