Phea was getting worried; throughout the day, dozens of wyngling eggs in the nursery hatched around her, yet her own ceased to move. The longer she waited, the more nervous she became; What if the egg is a dud? She found herself thinking stressful thoughts. What if the wyngling didn't survive. Was I too late? What if-

Phea's questions were cut off by an abrupt cracking noise. Oh Chii did I just break the egg?? Looking down, she could see her precious grey egg moving, as more cracks covered its surface. She sat up, holding the egg closely in front of her, egg shells spilling down her arms onto the polished wooden floor.

All of a sudden, a tiny head emerged from the egg, ears perked up, beautiful turquoise eyes staring at Phea in wonder. Phea couldn't do anything but stare in awe at this newly hatched wyngling. The little grey wyngling cooed contentely before sticking a chubby arm out of the egg and pressing her pink accent paws on the surprised yellow wyngling's snout.
