Description What is it that compels us to push through to the outer limits of endurance? [link]
Synthesizing spirits, ancient ritual, black magic, re-enactment, assertion of spirit in popular culture, long and short fuses…

First I want to give a big Thank You to SAMLIM [link] for making his photographs from a spirit festival in Thailand called ' Nine Emperor Festival ' on PHUKET ISLAND available.
His Faces inspired this piece and star in it.
I am propelled to defy categories; mixed media of the mind would work…
Technically Photo Manipulation, Collage, Painting …
The painting is still in beta until I can get my G5 back...
Full view is a thumbnail, as the faces will be 3x life size.
It is part of my Human Scape/Scope series:[link] [link]
[link] [link] ...

In addition to my own, lots of Stock Photos left image imprints in fragments as well…
Thank you all![link] [link] [link] [link] [link] [link] [link] [link] [link]

Thank you, I am so glad that you like the piece you inspired.

–What is it that compels us to push through to the outer limits of endurance? Maybe we stretch the limits to find the gifts that lie within, tease them out, to behold another dimension in broad daylight.–

Great stuff....about how long does one of these take, on average...must be days...

Thanks... the amount of time I put into my art work is too excessive to keep track of... probably in part a reaction to ages of commercial work where you have to account for every minute and prove efficiency to justify creativity.

I kind of work more like in traditional media, wiping out and rebuilding as I go along, I like to keep it open ended to see where it leads me...
In commercial work everything is concept driven, since it addresses a specific purpose or problem to be solved under deadline.

Thank you, don't know if you saw this journal update [link] there are such a multitude of symbolic connections throughout history, still the basic questions remain the same.

Hi Jutta!
Yap, I went on your last journal entry, but I have a huge problem to catch all senses and beautiful dimension of poetry when wrote in english, it's just a question of the poorness and limits of my understanding ability in this language....
Sorry, so sorry....
Probably, the image spoke much more to me than words, and I resay all the good I think about it.
Go ahead!

P.S.: ...half awake (half asleep) was a poor choice of words, it is more like a heightened state of awakening...at 4Am. '

Thanks for checking it out anyway, believe me, i would be hard pressed to understand anything in french.
These writings just kind of happen early mornings, half awake, it would be hard to translate them since they are not formalized. They do give me something to reflect on, so sometimes I do share them.

That's freaky! I mean that in the best way possible; I hope you understand. It's hard for me to look at this image. I'm very squeemish. However, even though I'm not a big fan of pain... I can see a lot of skill employed in this piece of art. And for that, I'm proud to see my stock used in this work!

Yes, a lot of pain went into this piece.
...Early this morning I added this question: What is it that compels us to push through to the outer limits of endurance?

I'm not sure how to answer this. Pushing into one day after another is an urge to see what comes next. (To me anyway.)

I like your stance, it doesn't always have to go to extremes, a very positive propellant...
