And now for something completely different!I've been frustrated with trying to draw lately, and sometimes coloring makes it better. So...here we are.
I tried something completely new here, and while I like how it turned out for the most part, I don't think I'll be doing it again. Instead of putting down a base color and shading on top of that, I built his coat in layers. It was a huge pain in my butt, I have to say. There are many things I don't like about the picture as a whole, but I like it overall I guess. Another commission example at least! 
Although I guess I just suck at water. xDGot some help from my mentor in the Better Yourself Program by . =prints-of-hooves was chosen as my mentor, and I'm really excited about it. So hopefully this can count as my first piece of art in my folder. Thanks for being so patient!

I used some star brushes by ~Rabieshund because...I tried to do some stars and they didn't turn out good. Also, I got lazy at the end.

No, I generally separate my layers...I was going to do it all on one this time but I freaked out because I had gotten the shading exactly where I wanted it and I was worried that if I didn't use more layers I'd kill it.

For whatever reason I can't get msn (and haven't been able to since it committed suicide), but maybe you can get yahoo and we can kill the incompatibility problem? I don't know why this isn't fixed by now, though.

Love the shading on the body-- and the sky looks really pretty, too. I've always been a fail at backgrounds-- and water is just SO darn hard, especially in a nighttime setting! I think you did really well. (Also a part of the problem might be there's no shoreline-- even with a small creek there's usually rocks/sand/dirt on the edges that lead to the water. ♥ You did great with this! Keep up the awesome work.

First, that moon is amazing. And I love all those star clusters in the background <3 And I love the eye (since normally they're hidden behind copious forelocks)... Anyway. Very pretty and well-done! ^_^

I'm glad you like it! For some reason my layers were being retarded and it didn't want me to color it. Hehe. Yeees, the eye escaped unscathed! Hey, it's easier when it's someone else's drawing and the eye is already there!
