Are you kidding? This is major achievement! I remember how you struggled with body proportions before, this is grand drawing. Love the hair, the movement of her clothes, the bedding and the teddy bear. Kudos!

Thanks, Celine (and it's great seeing you about on DA). I'm still working on my anatomy but your words are appreciated. The teddy bear is actually a cartoon character my brother and I created when we were kids. His name is actually "Cluedog", my username.

At first, I thought this was a deviation another friend of mine did as a self portrait (looks kind of like her). I think this picture turned out fine, though I couldn't help but wonder, what was it that you were struggling with?

I struggled with the anatomy on this piece, which is always my biggest struggle in any of my artwork. I can't seem to draw a convincing human being, let alone on a consistent basis. I have been studying anatomy and I am improving, but there's times I feel I'll never make it. Still, I do know that I possess a unique style. If I can only get my anatomy straight.

You're very welcome. Not a problem at all. I think what you have is fine. Do you do life drawing? I gorge myself in anatomy books too since life drawing is not available when I'm not at college. Maybe a few issues pop up once in a while but your stuff is not unconvincing. It happens to us all. What I do with anatomy to make the unconvicing convincing is exaggeration (to a degree). I can't really point out a good example at the top of my head but contemporary American comics helped me a lot on this. Hope this helps. Keep on rockin'!

Thanks. Actually, for me, the hair was the easy and fun part. It was the anatomy that I had a hard time with. I've been working on trying to improve my anatomy and it's been an uphill battle. It's one that I won't give up on, though.
