Thank you. I do feel like I am getting better in this style, but still in every one that I have done so far, I feel there's been something missing, im not quite happy with any of them. I do see myself having some potential in this style though if I keep it up. I watch many people on DeviantArt who do this style really really well like and and I love how they look. I want to be like them, waaaaaa!!

That's because you're still new at it. I bet when you first started making those vexel things, they weren't half as awesome as anything you can make now (need I mention the high monk? ). But I agree that you definately have potential! You're exactly right, you just have to keep up at it! How often do you use reference pictures? Because it would prolly be useful while you're starting out using them, so you can look at exact detail and lighting and everything. (Although it would have been hard to find a good reference pic for Nessie. The only real one is bad quality) I know when I don't use something for reference I end up drawing what I know and not what I see. I bet if you stick with this and develop your own distinct digital painting style, you'll be just as good as those guys.

Ha ha, let's save that for plan b. If after a few months (because of course that's all the time it should take you to get there xD) you're not better than them, we'll track them down. When we find them, Pablo will bite them to paralyze them, then we tie them up, then comes the high speed car chase (like the Bourne movies!) and finally we dump them on the magickal other side of the island with Simon and Elvis.

Im thinking it would probably help too if I used a program more suited to this sort of thing, I think GIMP probably doesn't produce as good of results as I could with a more suitable painting program.
