It was going to happen eventually: more art of Rachel Summers/Grey as the Phoenix! One of several forthcoming pieces, actually. I can't help it; I'm obsessed.

I was trying to be a bit creative, I suppose, so I designed this Phoenix outfit based on Ray's current Marvel Girl getup. I tend to think it looks a lot better this way. I'm really happy with this piece compositionally, too. I didn't spend as much time on flame effects as I sometimes have in the past, but sometimes simple works nicely.

This piece is in honor of my amazing friend . . . though I also have a slightly more old-school Ray on the way for you, luv. ^^
