Because Connect 4 is some serious business... :V
I'm pretty sure everyone has either been on the receiving end of someone rage-quitting or has been the one to rage-quit.

Baby Grubbs doesn't take losing very well, especially not to his younger, "dumber" cousin. He can be both a sore-loser and a sore-winner, which would reflect later on in his adulthood. And he wonders why none of the other baby villains want to play competitive games with him (he just assumes they're all intimidated by his stature and attitude).

It's been a while since I've drawn these bad baby boyz. This was also a perfect excuse to practice more with the Yoshi's Island coloring style. When I think of baby characters from the Mario series (canon or fan-made), I think of Yoshi's Island.....and when I think of Yoshi's Island, I think of the cutesy crayon drawing-like coloring style.

SUM XTRA INFO:
This was drawn in June 2022 and finished some time at the end of July 2022.

There was originally supposed to be a heart and flower pattern on the wall. Because of how close Baby Grubba and Baby Tubba are to the wall (and how "small" they're supposed to be), the heart-flower pattern wouldn't be visible from their point-of-view.

The blue rug next to them was supposed to be plain. However, it looked a little too plain, so I ended up adding a heart-flower pattern to it. Yes, it's the HP and FP sprites from Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door.

ARTIST COMPLAINT:
Baby Grubba is supposed to be flipping the gameboard, which is why his hands look "backwards." It's not an easy gesture to pull off, and it doesn't look good here. =m=;;;
