I believe that I am now happy enough with this that I will keep it as is. I may start a new picture of something different to expand my skills in other aspects of photoshop but for now I will submit this as a final draft.Ok this is my redo of my other WIP space scape picture. I kept the planet and moon as they were. The star field and gaseous space clouds were redone.
Planet and moon was made with 3D max.

I really like the background, but like others say, the planet doesn't mesh well. I think it may be in part because the planet's reflection color is white and the background is purple(ish). I believe that the reflection color would be more purple, too.
Other than that it looks pretty good.

This is cool, most people, myself included, would be hard pressed to do an airless moon properly (or well at all), but you nailed it.

Ohhh, I love the background so much! Very elegant and realistic. The planet is also very well done. My biggest complaint is that the two don't seem to mesh very well. The planet is very crisp and sharp, while the background is more blurry.
In short, bravo! Very awesome.

No, no, no. It's all wrong now. It's technically impossible to have the sunshine on the planet coming from the left and then have the tail of the comet also pointing towards where the sun is. The tail of a comet always points away from the sun.

I added a comet between the planet and moon just a little something extra but I don't think I am going to mess with this one anymore. I will leave it alone and try something else and learn something else new. I love learning.

When you submit to the apo gallery I refresh a persons status to active as of that date. It is my way of finding the inactive people.

the only thing that you need to do to keep your self a member is to make a fractal image with apophysis and put it in your gallery. and you don't have to upload but once a month if you want. just some activity is all we ask.
