As I painted this scene today, I felt a strange sympathy for the trees that didn't make it back to the living this spring. However, the cluster (which was far more than I included in my piece) adds a lot of character and mystery to this little patch of field.
Simplified palette today, Cad Red, cad Yellow, French Ultramarine, and Titanium White.
