It's not translated to french unfortunately, but you can use it with Photoshop. You just might have a different way of going about things than you would with GIMP.

when i set the layer to lighten my render just disappears :/

More than likely your render has a lot of dark spots in it. Lighten just shows the light parts, basically. Using a lighter-colored render is better, if you're going to try that.

It's been a while, but try playing with the jitter setting, that looks like that might have been a big factor.
