Description This is the Divergence Meter I built for my Okabe Rintarou cosplay from Steins;Gate. It is fully functional with both divergence mode as well as a clock mode, and received quite a bit of attention at AX2012.

Big thanks to Tom "Titor" for designing the project and his help troubleshooting some problems during the build.

But it has the wrong number! We have to be on a worldline in which a John Titor from World War III appeared, but World War III itself never happened. What number would that be???

Hmmm, I'm not sure what that number would be!

To be fair, there's another way you can look at it: since this metre was created in this worldline, the divergence number should probably be 0%.

Fairly sure this was in Tomorrowland. Cool, though.

Really? Haven't seen Tomorrowland. I'll have to look for it in the movie whenever I see it.

Why thank you! Nixie tubes are great, aren't they? Wish they were still used in products today.

You're welcome And yes I agree totally! Its a shame they have stopped producing them now, which means there is a finite supply. Of course they are still lots around but they are going up in price. I have been trying to aquire some in the UK but its going to cost me quite alot due to shipping, I plan on making my own clock at some point you see. Again, you did a great job on this

Out of curiosity was it hard to build and program at all?

It definitely took a while to complete; about a month for me working on it a few hours a day. I had done a very little of soldering work in the past, so I had to re-learn a lot.

Luckily I didn't have to program the processor myself. I'm not sure how difficult it would be if have programming experience. If you search for "divergence meter project" or "tom titor" on google you can find the individual that designed this meter and programmed the processor. I'm sure you could acquire a pre-programmed chip from him, or I believe he published his program code on the site as well.
