Description 's Dead Fantasy 3 Dress Sphere Contest Submission.

=================

The Story: After reading the guidlines for Monty's contest and looking through some of the submissions already in place I was starting to wonder what "class" I should do that was both unique and functional. The Weapon was more of a concern to me than the actual outfit. Many of the common classes and weapons were snatched up by other artists and while this didn't mean I couldn't use them, I wanted something that would stand out.

I started to think back to games I've played and anime I've watched in which weapons were used. I knew I also wanted to do an Archer design but an Archer seemed to be far too slow for such a fast pace movie against a close range fighter (Ayane). I also wanted to keep in Rikku's style of the daggers or a two-handed weapon.

Finally it dawned on me ( thank you 'Reborn' ) of what a perfect weapon would be that was underused but also very functional and capable of offensive and defensive use: Tonfas.

The Weapon/s: Once the idea hit to use tonfas I was obssesive over it. I youtube'd videos of professionals using them and I learn there were litterly dozens of moves and techniques for them. These had to be the ones. At first, before my research, I thought of placing blades or a spike on them to keep with Rikku's bladed weapon style, but after watching the full use of how a tonfa could be used I decided against it. The weapons, on their own, are perfect enough.

The Outfit: After deciding on the weapon, the outfit came pretty quick to mind. I didn't want to try to use all the things Monty listed as being things he liked, but I'm guilty of using some. I also wanted to try something that he might or might not like: Camo. There IS such a thing of orange camofluge and I thought, "Hey, why not?"

If I had to say anything about they outfit I'm fond of it is how simple it is. It's very minimal but it has all the things I wanted: shin guards, a sport-bra-like top (which later became a turtle-neck for some reason), and short sleeves so not to interfer with the tonfas.

Why Me?!: The design might be simple and the weapons themselves might be easy to over look but I ask you that before you decide, watch some videos on tonfa-use. I don't even care if the outfit isn't used but the idea of the tonfas against Ayane with Monty's mastermind Choreography would just be so badass. Thank you for viewing!
