Such a failure I guess, because I'm only half satisfied with the result.

Overall, this was a fantastic piece! The shining gold effects with the light, and the way the small splashes of paint appear the dance and spark off the artwork is very nice.
The shading of the piece gives it a rustic, metallic look, which I really enjoy, and the movement of the clothing is surprisingly fluid, since at first glance, this looks like a statue made of firm material. The hair in front is very detailed with lots of motion, though I wish the hair in the back was a little less blocky. Other than that, the only other complain I could possibly have is that the head seems a little stiff to me. However, I'm aware that you might have intentionally done this, to give this more of a "storybook" or still motion quality to it, so this just might be a difference in opinion.
Anyways, the picture is gorgeous, and I'm not even sure I'm qualified to critique this, since I'm pretty sure I can't do better or match it. x'D

this is a really nice piece! Far from a failure!
Not only have you made a sort of flame like light move up, but you made the man move as well which makes it more visually appealing.
The animation is pretty smooth but you can see where the frames ended, some more frames and precise movement with the animation and it'd be perfect.
Although the sparks add to the visual effect, compared to everything else they look sloppily done. Some more detail and lighting effects on those and it would've been perfect.
Other than the little flaws though this is a great animation and very well done! Be proud!

Woooh awesome look! I wouldn't be regarding this as a failure at all you crazy guy! It looks awesome, and I'm not just saying that, I don't see the point in false flattery. And the reason is:
1. This was one of your first attempts at animating correct? That in itself is a feat, to try something new and have the courage to share it and ask for feedback so that you can better yourself X)
2. It loops PERFECTLY! Something that is quite challenging to achieve
3. you were using a painted image to animate, which makes things much harder than animating a flat colour image for example but I think that it is well worth it for the final effect, X)
4. If I DO have any "negative" feedback it is this: Though the little spark things you made move at a pleasing speed, each of them following a nice little pathway of its own, I think that your character moves too quickly, making it almost look like he is jumping which is not the case. This can be remedied easily however, all you need to do is put his frames further apart X)
So over all this was a bad-ass piece, and I'm not just talking outa my butt! I am graduating from my Animation course this summer XP
