He never speaks, at least, not in any way I can understand yet.

I've watched him when he sleeps sometimes, during the few times he actually STAYS in our neck of the woods long enough. Always deathly still. Even Papa shifts around in his sleep, but him... It's like he shuts down or something.

He never speaks. Never talks about his dreams or if he dreams at all. That doesn't stop me from trying and asking though.

Last night, Perigrim regaled us with one of his many stories. It was about creatures that once existed long ago. They were huge and powerful and roamed much of old Loonia back in the day. I wonder how true they are.

I think I've made some progress! This morning I asked Knight, as I often do, if he had dreamed of anything noteworthy the night before. Usually, he either glances at me or shrugs in his usual, indifferent way.

Today though, he turned to me and nodded.

How exciting! A small act to others but incredible progress to me! He won't indicate anything more about it though.

At least I know Knight can dream!
