This one was a pain in the butt to make. I never found the right composition. But I'm satisfied. I think so :U

Honest feedback is as always appreciated

One thing I thought was interesting was that this piece is titled "Polished" while at the same time being in the "Raw fractals" section, but that is beside the point. The title fits the piece very well since the color and shading of this fractal is reminiscent of polished stone or wood. I also like your use of value; this piece is pretty high-key but the small details are not drowned out but emphasized by the dark parts. This is sort of strange but the colors and juxtaposition of dark and light brown shades reminds me of a wooden chessboard, but with a more complicated pattern.

I agree that the composition could use some more work, but I really don't know much about fractals so I can't really give advice on how to fix it. Hope this was helpful anyway, though

Thanks a lot for the critique! I appreciate it very much. You are right, the composition isn't the best one. I love the comparision to a wooden chessboard

I wish more non-fractalists would do the same as you, critique fractal art, even they can't give advice about the techique, they often offer good advice about other aspects, as composition, light, colours, concept, etc, etc. And it's nice to see my work through their eyes too.

Your welcome! I really enjoyed the piece, even without knowledge of fractals, and I'm glad you appreciated it! There isn't enough good critiquing going around on DA, but I know I appreciate it when I get one!

Well I think it is great. The fact that it shows some 'polished' part and some that are not accentuate the polished areas very well. Lovely and unusual image. Well done.
