the concept is nice.
The construction remind me one of my deviation.
I just think you let too much light. Your eyes are more present with the white on your face, but more shades and a sharpened could be nice !

on black and white pictures, if you use photoshop, use the "selective correction" function for black white and grey. Add some contrast and luminosity operation. But the best thing is to improve a good lightning when you make your shots, but it's also the more difficult
