Back in 1998 I drew the first version of this picture which can be seen here: [link] The picture is scheduled to come down soon, so I'll probably put it up here on Deviant.Of course I had to go back and redraw it. It sat in my sketchbook for a few years until I found it and decided to color it.
Character name: Blume
Edit 08072006: I've changed Blume's name to Eve and renamed this piece. I think Eve suits her much better considering her role in the story, and a small reference to a minor historical figure.
Why is it Eve though... why does she have wings? Who is Lily?
EVE IS NOT AN ANGEL. I just wanted to draw wings really bad.
Lily was the start of Eve. Lily and Delph's designs were used for Max and Eve. Lily and Delph's story was the comic I was working on a long time ago. I ditched it when I realized that Fallen would work out a lot better. Lily and Delph are in Fallen, but they're the Gods that Max wiped out. So they are there, but not. There's reference to them and statues, but they don't have speaking roles in the story.
I'm hopped up on pills again so I'mma stop typing because it's not making sense.

the lines of her hands and face are very graceful....I'm not so sure about the tail (or are they trailing edges of the wings?)
the wings do have a nice sort of twisted look to them...it's very eye-bending, I keep staring at them
I wonder what she's saying though? It looks like she'ss telling someone something important. At the veryleast, she's being very emphatic about whatever it is.

Oh I have no idea what those things hanging off of her are... just more useless costume design. I generally don't put tails on my characters.

This is really cool. The detailed pen renderings, especially in the feathers and the hatching in the hair, give this a sort of graphic-novel kinda look. Plus, that background is to die for!

Simply stunning. I admire how you had the attention span to get such detail into the feathers like that.
The pose really adds to the dramatic feel of the picture, and the tones in the background really have an impact too. Your shading really is amazing too.
Being as I'm too lazy to ramble on about each little detail, I shall just fave instead. ^^ Excellent work.

Thanks for the comment. I've been really into doing details on everything lately... I think it adds to pictures and makes them more interesting to look at. I wrestled with the coloring for awhile, I have two versions of it, one in blue/white instead of the purple/yellow.
