Description
The old Decepticon wreck almost didn't show on their long range sensors, and they would've passed it too- if it wasn't for the smallest of life signs that bleeped weakly at them. They scanned the ship again, and this time, found the life sign was scattered- like little scraplets scampering around the internals.

They tried hailing the beast, but no reply came; just crackling static that chirped and spat at them.

'Just leave it, Optimus...' Ratchet had told him.

But Optumus couldn't shake a horrible feeling creeping across his spark. The wreck shouldn't have been there. It must've been a great vessel once- one used to celebrate Decepticon victories. And yet, here it was, lightyears away from Cybertron.

It didn't take long for Ratchet to realise Optimus was still going to explore it, no matter what the medic said. So he suited Optimus up with armour and a long range radio. Optimus went in alone, keeping in contact with Ratchet who guided him through the beast of a ship. Winding him down into a lower deck, where the life signs seemed to gather and churn.

Then Optimus heard it, a rattling breath, and the scratch and tear of metal. Then whispers, rattling fast. "-How-how did this happen? It wasn't supposed to be like this- I was supposed to--- he was DEAD!" the voice rose sharp and bounced furiously around the hallway.

Optimus shivered, staring at the door that waited for him, wrapped in torn purple curtains framed in a energon blue light. "Ratchet, someone's down here."

"Don't move, we're on our way."

"Dead." the voice said again, this time sounding a little more familiar. Optimus held his breath and took a step towards the doorway, "-- how did he-- again- He always returns! He always takes everything from me!" the voice hissed, then sobbed, and the sound of scratching metal returned. "And now look at me...? I'm a beast..."

At the curtain, Optimus pulled it aside- and for a moment, he couldn't breathe. He'd expected anybot else... not him...

Somehow, Starscream didn't see the Prime at the entance. His eyes were focused on the floor- while one hand tore gashes across his scalp. Energon gushed from the wounds- and lit up all the things wrong with the Seeker. Like the age of scars, or the infectious creatures that had burrowed into his chest, or the way he'd been changed after so many years- teeth and jaw twisted into an unnatural grin.

"Starscream?"

The seeker's one working eye snapped up to Optimus, and rattling snarl filled the room. "Why did you come here?" Starscream spoke softly. "I warned you never to come here!"

Optimus's internals froze; something was wrong. "You never-"

"Get out..." Starscream raised his wings and the beasts within his chest writhed. "GET OUT!" he screamed, and the entire room churned. It was clear the infection hadn't just taken over Starscream, it had woven it's way through the wreck, and all around Optimus, and claws began lashing out at him, trying to drive him back...
