Filipino in Digital Graphics

Why Filipino In Digital Arts? It started when we had a project at school to execute what we've learned using Photoshop. The title was given and we don't have any chance to change it. From their I think of what we (Filipinos) are really capable using the digital aspects into Art. Searching for the right representation of our native culture, I saw "bagoongan" Jars. "Bagoong" is a special side dish made of of little fishes grinded, dried, and sauted; a good combination for vegetables and salads.

From that picture, I played on how I will execute the visuals and came up with the colors from our Flag: red, blue, yellow, and blue (Black doesn't exist on the Flag, however I think It represents the shadows of our origin). The symbols in the sun are Filipinos ancient alphabet called "alibata" which mean DI-GI-TALUM or Digital in our present sense.

I believe that Filipinos ARE great artists because our godfathers or what we call "ninuno" are diverse in terms of culture and expressive in their very form of art that in this present time it transfuses with the every aspect of modern impressionism and collaborativity.
