My friend Caitlin in the tub. Only lights used were triple bagged in zip lock bags and submersed in the water.
My bathroom tiles are disgusting & I really wish I had better bubble bath for this, but it still worked enough.

My question is how did you meter for this? Did you test out settings with the tub empty and then place them in the bags and fill up the water?

why would i meter this? the thing is, with digital, you can take a few shots just to test out the exposure and adjust it to how you like although i know my flashes well by now and knew exactly what settings i needed with them at 1/4th power

i'll seriously never understand the point in metering light when you can just take a test shot or two before hand........

Metering with a light meter that's in the hand or taking a picture and using that as your "meter" is the same in my mind. I trust my histogram but have problems trusting the image on the back of my camera.

I guess I'm in the habit of metering because of using an old medium format camera. I also use it just to carry around and check ambient light conditions at various times instead of bringing my camera. Yep, I'm a big nerd and scout different places and take notes.

Did the water / bubbles absorb much of the light?

Better bubbles? kiddies stuff tends to be good and so is washing up liquid, but you'll get the best bubles by running your water fast and having a very clean bath.....sorry where i work i'm forever washing up scientific glassware. and bubbles is a problem for seeing what your doing. (blush)

hahah yeah i was thinking the same thing...gonna go buy some of that kids stuff with the "SUPER BUBBLES" label or anything of the sort...hopefully works better. if not, then dishsoap it is. just might not be enjoyable for the model

As long as you don't bye a really cheep one you should be fine. And if you can find it you can get ones with alo vera in them so it'll do her skin some good.
BUT i really must stress DO NOT BYE CHEEP washing up liquid because they use fermaldehyde in them. So unles you want to pickle your model, best avoided. Ok theer wont be that much in it and even less once diluted but it is still horrid stuff, surly you've seen bottles specimens? And its not used for doing that with any more. Just so you know. Other then that i hope you have a great Christmas.
