The antonym of Austrofascism!A fictional flag for the ideology of Austro-Marxism which was a form of Democratic Socialism mostly developed by Otto Bauer (leading member of the early SDAP/Ö when it still was Socialist, former foreign minister of the short lived Republic of German-Austria). Austro-Marxism is known for its special views on nations and nationality suggesting that people should not be geographically devided but that nations should function as associations of peoples. It also was a type of Socialism theorized under the multinational Austrohungarian Empire which means it was intended to unite all the different peoples of the Empire rather than just German speaking Austrians originally and as Victor Adler (first leader of the Austrian SDAP/Ö) another Austro-Marxist suggested they might as well would have striven towards this system even with the Kaiser in power. A-M was inherently reformist in nature therefore and seeked to change society with reforms as elaborated by Bauer himself.
The Three Arrows or Dreipfeil on this flag was a symbol invented by the SDAP/Ö (now SPÖ) and later spread to their German sister Party where the Anti-Communist and Anti-Monarchist interpretations of the arrows were added as it originally just was an Anti-Fascist/Hitlerite symbol. Which also is why many American ANTIFA groups seem to have taken a liking to it.
Note: I am not an Austro-Marxist. I made this as a part of a historical project to inform people about the ideological history of my country. Also to show some Anglos there never was "Austrian Economics" as Lolberts imagine it in my country as an actual movement.

The Three Arrows is supposed to represent the Three enemies of Democracy: Communism, Fascism and Monarchism. So I don't think it's a good symbol of Marxism. Plus the Three Arrows was a symbol used by the German Social Democrats.

Welp. I explained what it really was in the description lol. It was firstly used by the Austrian SDAP and they were indeed Socialists/Marxists still back then like most Social Democrats/Democratic Socialists originally were intended to be. It was long prior to 1945 that they used it. It was on their flag in the Austrian civil war when they fought the Austrofascists too. The three arrows also didn't have this meaning before the German branch adopted them and used them for that controversial poster implying they must fight fellow leftists. Wikipedia is widely inaccurate on this. Officially here they also represented Anti-capitalism, Anti-clericalism and Anti-fascism after the mere Anti-Nazi symbolism became too shallow for some (rotbewegt.at/epoche/einst-jetz… ). And yep the SPD and the SPÖ used them after the war still and sometimes the SPÖ still does today despite not being Socialist anymore. Just like Antifa waving a Communist flags despite being liberal footsoldiers. But yeah you can say the Austrian branch always was more left wing back then since our Communist movements never grew big because all far-leftists went to the party of Victor Adler and Otto Bauer- the Austrian SDAP.
