For #AnimalArtistsOfDA 's Summer Contest: At the Beach .Forgive me if I feel really proud about this piece
I know the sea is a bit of a mess, it's my first time ever doing anything like this, but it turned out a lot better than I expected it to, so I'm not complaining. I spent most of my time on the detail of the hippocampi, and I feel it was well worth the effort!One thing that might stand out is that, in mythology hippocampi are depicted as having feathery wings, but I wasn't trying to avoid drawing feathers, leathery wings just made more sense to me.
Done on A3, with colour pencils. Referenced from the Trevi Fountain.

Hippocampis look like neat creatures. Nice colors you chose for them, it looks like they blend into the water really well (; (if only they stayed underwater more often xD)
The poor one on the left looks all scared. Like, "oh no! A storm's a-brewin!!"

I agree, hippocampi are an interesting animal concept, though I think the hooves are a bit impractical

I meant hooves are impractical for sea creatures, they need webbing instead, to make swimming easier.
