Description This necklace is my biggest stat-booster. I often wear it on roadtrips.

Accompanied here by my shirt, a seatbelt, cinch-pulls from a neck-pillow, and the tuft at the end of my braid.

Self portrait from a piney highway on the way to Cape Disappointment, Washington.

Lovely piece! I like the detailing, and the 'gemstone' in the middle is a nice touch.

Hehe, I liked it too! So much that I bought it. Alas I'm not a master whistle-smith, but I do like to play tunes on 'em!

Thanks! *LOL* 5% Swag. Could be!

It's super fun. I remember it was a little trick to learn, but once you get the fingerings down (there's really only a few scales/keys you can play in), it's just a hoot.

XDDD Yeah I had two of the FOcalink Pendents but not this one, I really need to get it, they are so much to play even if you are belting out random notes

A hoot? I think it's more of a toot. xDĀ

You dooo???? Ā  I have that one too!

It has kind of a scratchy sound! All rough and I love it!

FirefuryAmahira In reply to Contraltissimo [2015-10-07 05:35:03 +0000 UTC]

Mine only sounds scratchy if I blow into it way to hard... I may have weaponized this fact against an IRC scam caller a few weeks ago. >_> They can produce such beautiful sounds... yet when played badly, it should probably count as a torture technique. >8D

*IRS scam caller, even, oops!

Only reason I did was I started keeping mine on my desk since we've been getting a lot of scam calls despite being on the do-not-call list. The fake-IRS idiot made the mistake of calling back. First call, I laughed, told him to eff off, because I work in a tax prep firm and know damn good and well that the IRS doesn't cold-call people about penalties, and hung up. He called right back and started yelling about how "You'll be in much trouble!" and so on. Told him to eff off again and hung up. He tried calling back again, this time screaming obscenities at me, so I gave him the loudest, shriekiest, most ear-bleedingly high pitched blast that little sweet potato can produce, straight into the phone speaker.

Funny enough, he hasn't tried calling back since. I can't begin to fathom why not!

Oh my gosh that was popcorn worthy anecdote.

When my Dad gets those calls (or sales or scams or whatever) he likes to tell them that he is offering an entertainment service: he listens to their spiel for a hundred dollars a minute and he pesters them for their credit card numbers and tells them their staying on the line or calling back is a binding contract of this agreement and so on....

Allegedly, somebody once did this to someone who kept calling him, and it was taken to court, and he won.

Could be just urban legend, though.

+20? Dang, what a stat boost!Ā
Cape Disappointment sounds like so much fun...

*lol* It was actually a pretty cool spot. Beautiful, very harsh land. It was named by one Captain John Meares when he could not find the mouth of the Columbia River. The seas there are apparently often very harsh and the fog always dense. There were a lot of informational sign posts about maritime tragedies in the early nineteenth century.

Wait, that's the actual name? Haha, that's both cool and sad. XD
Oh yeah, harsh water and fog would make sea travel really dangerous...Ā

Contraltissimo In reply to IckleVoldiePoo [2015-08-16 06:34:02 +0000 UTC]

Heh, we had wondered on our way there. X-) But yeah, not disappointing at all! It was quite dramatic, really. Very blustery, high winds turned the beach into a sandblaster.... where the sand was visible, that is---because there were like eighteenquadbillion craptons of driftwood piled up on the shore. There were warning signs and everything, advising swimmers to swim at their own risk, for all the rolling logs!

Would you say that Cape Disappointment was disappointing in that it wasn't disappointing?

šŸ‘: 0 ā©: 1

Contraltissimo In reply to Get2daChoppa [2015-08-17 03:51:09 +0000 UTC]

In that regard, you could say it was most disappointing.

It also provides as a handy paradox to confuse overthinking enemies.
