Haha, so I saw Vyse and Dyne among your favorite characters, and then I saw that you love in-game events that don't necessarily get their own cutscenes.... and this was what my muse was hungry for. Yeah 'cause I didn't believe for one minute Dyne would have allowed himself to be herded into the other room by the likes of Marco, not when his boy was still upstairs duking it out with the friggin' Executioner! Rather, I'd say about half his crew were engaged in holding him down to keep him from climbing right back up that ladder.

Also, I feel like I usually tend to lather darksauce and drama-sprinkles all over my arts, but.... aw, you just seem like such a happy spirit, so I went for something a little more win.

So Vyse finally comes back down, and here we got two Winsauce Dudes powerwalking into the camera after frankly one of the toughest fights in the game. And in the next room, Dyne ordered every last one of his men to take a vow of silence regarding anything they may have heard or guessed about Vyse facing crylhounds and mind-stealers and a giant barfing Bleigock plus the hugest, buffest, meanest officers in the Valuan armada.

Because Mom doesn't need to know details.

Lol this is the first time I've drawn Vyse's face. He's gotten into my artworks twice before, but.... he was never facing me.

That's a very cool scene you drew! As I was reading through the SS forms, I loved Sharulia 's idea of illustrating events that didn't get a scene, and I had a feeling that would be just the thing to get you fired up You did an excellent job, that's a sweet father-son moment there! ^^ But I'm sure Vyse's Momβ„’ would be able to face it. This woman is amazing, she deserves a tribute of her own. Her husband is arrested and sentenced to death, her village is attacked, and there she stands, very calm and collected, she has everything under control, and she's okay with the fact that her only son is going to risk his life to bring back his dad. She sure has some backbone, I have always admired her!Β

Aww, yeahh, that is true, you know, all things considered, she seems like an exceedingly stable woman. But my muse was screaming for that title and I just couldn't resist!

Where to begin gushing about this beautimous piece of creativity? For one, I never would have guessed a scene with Vyse and his dad. We saw glimpses early in the game of their relationship, but a scene like this would have been so amazing!! Even though the dungeon is dark, there is still so much awesome surrounding these two. Like father, like son. Mom definitely doesn't need to know all the gruesome details. Only that her two favorite men return home safe XD

Your description of Dyne wanting to jump back up there and aid his son are so spot on! I must say I hadn't thought about it quite like that either.

Haha, I know they weren't paired together anywhere in your list of favorite supersquads or however it went, but.... it's a boy and his dad! I couldn't pass it up. My muse would have beat me with a hockey stick. Lol maybe it's the Christmas Spirit still on my brain.... Just feeling so all about family.

And seriously, I can just imagine the turmoil at the base of the ladder. Wonder what they were all thinking or doing as they heard all the ruckus up top....!

Well, I think it's perfect You took my idea and ran with it, and that's what I wanted to see. I love most of the characters in SOA, so it would be difficult to go wrong. Β I will probably request the same type of thing if I participate again next year hehe. There's no end to how many situations could become beautiful art like this!

Yeah, that battle was pretty tough stuff. Especially since it was 3 on 3 at the time, and Fina was off to the train. And pew! That sewage must have stunk pretty bad.

I LOVE your work on Vyse’s cutlasses in this one. Kinda glossy and glowy.

Seriously! That whole episode was rough so close to the beginning of the game when everybody's levels are still so low, lol.

Thanks so much! Ha, I was trying to make the far chamber all dark, and so I lightened those forward wall-corners there.... but then I noticed, contrast-wise, they were kind of eating that secondary cutlass; it was just disappearing into the wall. I wondered for a while about lightening it, thinking, Well it's a dark environment, it really shouldn't be that bright, but.... Aw, what the heck! And lit up the blades anyway. Glad you like 'em!

Well, they said in the game that they used Moon Stones to make weapons and also to change their characteristics, so perhaps that’s why they’re glowy. I dunno, that’s my reasoning for you. I think they look great, as I said. You made the right choice anyway, is what I was trying to say, as far as I see it.
