Claire Danes drawn with graphite pencil, on 8.5x11 typing paper. Photo-reference used. On the photo it kinda blurs on the left side, thats why the texture of the sweater kinda fades out. I hated her clothes when I was drawing it, i seriously considered not drawing the textures, but now that I'm done and I see how it looks, I'm glad i stuck with it.Related content

The texture on the shirt is very beatifully done. You might want to make the background shading on the left side dark as the shading on the right. It would pull the drawing together more and have it more balanced. Great job.

the arm's shading is a little off, it seems...
but the eyes, the hair and the lips... wonderful realization!

Thank you, I seem to find the hardest ways to draw things, I did consider not drawing the textures in and just plain shading it in, but I'm glad I didn't

nice drawing. it looks like her. the texture of her clothes is great. however, i have some general probs with the whole pic. the uneveness of the shading. some parts are smooth whilst other parts are rough. the shadow that her clothes cast on her sholder is also a bit toodark.

The sweater looks gorgeous. Face looks just like her, too. I think the shoulder is a bit wonky..it may just be claire danes though. She's so lanky. Nice work

I know why you prolly hated her clothes while you were drawing them...Because the textures of her shirt were sooooo TEDIOUS to draw, right? lol If I had to draw her clothes, I'd prolly hate them too
Sometimes detail can be a pain in de butt and be extremely tedious... But it pays in the end and can add a little extra "UMPH!" to a composition. I think the textures really work in this pic!
I've always liked Claire Danes. I really like how you captured her expression in the drawing.

your stuff is always good, but this time is one of your best. the sweater looks just like a photo. and her facial expression is awesome. but i agree with the "don't bevel the outside" -- it takes away from the drawing. amazing job

i like how its blurry in some places and really focused in the middle - looks good i think.

now for more constructive comments(heh) - the necklace is off ... i understand that it can move and stuff ... and look like that on the photo ... and thats all good and great .. but it just looks funky to me is all ... and the left arm ... it seems to me like there is a bit too little shadow under the sweater - too much white ... looks odd (the front of the arm - not the back) ..
... but in all - Damn!

me thinks this is your best yet. not as realistic but more artsy and emotional. great shading and detail. the left part of her face seems to me a little unbalanced. fabulous sweater

Fantastic work on the weave of the sweater... very, very well textured. Her arm looks a little strange.
Saving the best for last;
Her eyes are phenomenal! By the shading you can tell that they're light blue in life... awesome job. The expression is beautiful, and the hair is great, too.
